Position: Membership Executive – Part-Time
Position location: Kennewick, Washington (WA)
Position Overview

The Membership Executive is a part-time role focused on delivering high-quality support to Cub Scout Packs and their families, helping youth transition successfully into Scouts BSA Troops. By working with a limited number of Packs, the Membership Executive provides personalized service and builds foundational skills for potential future roles within the Scouting America organization. Applications are due by Oct 20, 2025

Responsibilities

The Membership Executive will work directly with 12–15 Cub Scout Packs and be responsible for the following:

Support to Chartering Organizations

  1. Assist with Pack Leader recruitment and onboarding.

Pack Planning & Operations

  1. Ensure each Pack has a current annual program plan and budget.

Family Engagement

  1. Communicate regularly with Pack families regarding:
    • Summer and Day Camp attendance
    • Annual membership renewal
    • Graduation to the next level of Scouting
    • Selecting a Scouts BSA Troop to join

Leader Support

  1. Provide guidance and updates to Pack Leaders on:
    • Youth Protection and Position-Specific Trainings
    • Unit Fee Program
    • Council-sponsored fundraising opportunities
    • Camp attendance
    • New member recruiting strategies
    • Program implementation

Relationship Building

  1. Attend Pack Committee Meetings and outings to build strong relationships with families and leaders.

Growth & Expansion

  1. Start new Cub Scout Packs in alignment with Council goals and community needs.

 

Benefits
  • Hours: 20–24 hours per week
  • Pay: $19 – $20 per hour
  • Reports To: Scout Executive or designated Council staff
  • Location: Assigned area within Council territory, with primary focus on Packs in Walla Walla and Oregon

the 101st Airborne Association and Vietnam Veterans Association. Barnes
serves as a senior fellow for the Global Federation of Competitiveness
Councils, a nonpartisan network of corporate CEOs, university presidents, and
national laboratory directors. He has also served as a senior executive for the
U.S. Department of Homeland Security, leading the first-responder program
and has two U.S. presidential appointments

David Alexander

David Alexander is a Baden-Powell Fellow, Summit Bechtel Reserve philanthropist, and recipient of the Silver Buffalo and Distinguished Eagle Scout Award. He is the founder of Caljet, one of the largest independent motor fuels terminals in the U.S. He has served the Arizona Petroleum Marketers Association, Teen Lifeline, and American Heart Association. A triathlete who has completed hundreds of races, Alexander has also mentored the women’s triathlon team at Arizona State University.

Glenn Adams

He is the former president of the National Eagle Scout Association and established the Glenn A. and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award. He has more than 40 years of experience in the oil, gas, and energy fields, including serving as a president, owner, and CEO. Adams has also received multiple service awards from the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers.
